please have a look to diagram above

we will prepare SCCM in DMZ 172.16.x.x to deploy image in DMZ 172.19.x.x.

OSD process tasks

tasks of Operating system deployment include the following :

  • install DP >> DONE in previous article
  • install DHCP  >> DONE in previous article
  • Enable SCCM PXE Role  >> DONE in previous article
  • BOOT Image Distribution >> DONE in previous article
  • Add Operating System Image  >> DONE in previous article
  • configure software distribution point >> DONE in previous article
  • Task Sequence Creation >> to be DONE in this article
  • Deploy task sequence into Unknown Computer Collection  >> to be DONE in this article
  • Deploying Windows 10 via PXE boot >> to be DONE in this article

Task Sequence Creation

after preparing SCCM server for OSD deployment it’s time to deploy image to client computers

the first step for that is to create task sequence to build and capture image :

Let’s Go

software library > operating system > task sequences > create task sequences
select : build and capture reference OS image
set task name and select boot image arch which is 64 bit
select image that has been created previously > optionaly you can set password for OS
set join to WG or AD domain
also install CCM client package with OS image
also you can install additional application or leave that after finish OSD
we will NOT install any application currently > Next
set properties for image like version and creator with description
set image path and account for access path
review and accept
DONE

Deploy task sequence into Unknown Computer Collection

NOW : we just need to deploy task created above to client  computer

BUT,,,,

there is NO CLient  computers YET !!!

actually this called unknown computers because there is NO identifier for computer YET [ called GUID ]

software library > operating system > tasks sequences > task > our task create above > deploy
select task name and select collection [ ALL unknown computers ]
selectdeployment type as available for PXE [which means that client computer boot from Ethernet
no need for schedule since we select purpose as available
select in REDs
set some options
sepecify how to run the content
done

Deploying Windows 10 via PXE boot

on client side

just start computer with PXE boot  enabled

computer will get IP from DHCP

then get image from SCCM server to start OS  deployment

there is NOthing to explain
